A taste bud connoisseur on the move

A believer of experimenting with food, Donald continues to tantalise the taste buds of his customers at Porky’s Restaurant.

PRIDING himself in creating mouth-watering dishes using only the freshest ingredients, Richards Bay restaurateur Donald Bruins-Lich is setting the benchmark as he thrives in the food industry.

A believer of experimenting with food, Donald continues to tantalise the taste buds of his customers at Porky’s Restaurant.

Involved in the industry since the tender age of 14, Donald was inspired by the power of fresh herbs and infuses them into most of his signature dishes.

‘I am passionate about cooking and find it therapeutic – it is not just a job,’ he says.

His latest project resulted in the opening of another restaurant at the Richards Bay waterfront, Wanna B’s, which offers an American diner and saloon experience.

Despite the hard work put into the opening, Donald is focused and fired up as he prepares for the upcoming DICE Zululand Chef of the Year competition.

Not afraid of a little competition, Donald is ready to show the masses just how he can pack some powerful flavours into a bite-sized meal.
