Five reasons you should learn to code
Steve Jobs once said that everyone should learn how to programme a computer, “because it teaches you how to think.”
Coding can be an empowering skill, here are more reasons why you should consider it:
1. Whatever your background or profession, coding is going to be useful.
Wherever you work, computer programming knowledge will add value. This is whether you’re in law, education, publishing, finance or civil service, coded products make tasks easier.
2. You can create something that can make a difference in the world.
People are continually developing programmes and apps that make real differences in the world. It may not be the next Facebook or Google, but you can definitely impact how systems operate, and how to make daily tasks easier.
3. Coding is a high-demand skill, and can become a substantial career.
The more you improve your existing capabilities, the better. You never know who may come knocking on your door.
4. Coding jobs are here to stay.
With our world becoming increasingly digital, knowing how to code is highly valuable, and will be more so in future.
