WHILE the City of uMhlathuze put a sudden hold on its decision to cut the water supply to households from 8pm to 7am, residents should be aware that is still certainly to happen in the near future.
‘We decided to wait and see what the savings will be after we reduced water pressure significantly from Friday,’ said City Communications Manager, Mdu Ncalane.
‘Once this has been quantified, we will reassess the situation.
Water pressure for urban households has been halved between 5am and 7am, and again between 4pm and 8pm.
It has been cut by 25% between 7am and 4pm.
Pressure to commercial businesses is cut by 50% between 7am and 10pm.
