This after police arrested more than 100 people for public violence, arson and malicious damage to property on Monday.

Schools and businesses were shut down for the day as the violent mob destroyed almost everything in its path.

The latest fires have razed one factory to the ground, with firefighters still battling to control the flames at other properties this morning.

By late Monday afternoon, the exact reason for the protests was still unclear, the North Coast Courier reported.

So far three possible reasons have been highlighted ranging from dissatisfaction with two new iNdunas, to service delivery and even over the possible return of former mayor, B Magwaza.
