TWO armed robbers were shot and killed this morning during a failed cash in transit heist at OK Centre in Empangeni.
According to officials on scene, the men were part of a six strong gang that attempted to rob cash in transit security guards who were conducting a cash drop at a Nedbank ATM.
Two SBV security guards were wounded, one in the foot and the other in the neck, and are currently in hospital for treatment.
It is believed a third suspect was wounded but managed to flee along with his accomplices.
Forensic officers are currently on scene to gather evidence.
