LifeLine meets Lotto

Lotteries Commission impressed with LifeLine operation

HAVING recently applied for Lotto funding and awaiting the outcome, LifeLine Zululand was pleased on Wednesday to enjoy a visit from National Lotteries Commission (NLC) Provincial Manager, Sanele Dlamini.

Here by invitation to see first-hand some of LifeLine’s projects, Dlamini said the NLC had decentralised its operations to ensure better service delivery and to remain accountable to the public.

‘The aim is to show the public that NLC has a face and is not just about people in tall buildings in fancy offices.

‘It’s about everyone on the ground, hence this invitation from LifeLine Zululand was welcomed and honoured, as they did apply for funding as per the Call for Proposals in 2015.’

During the visit, Dlamini was given presentations on various LifeLine projects and how they relate to budget, finance and sustainability.

‘We were impressed by the interest and concern shown by Mr Dlamini,’ said LifeLine Zululand Director, Michelle Jewlal.

‘He interacted positively throughout the meeting, engaging with supervisors and coordinators and acknowledged the work we do.

‘He also clarified misconceptions regarding what we may and may not apply for in terms of core funding and projects.

‘His input will enable us to streamline the feedback process from the Lotto application.’
