Richards Bay High team has stamina

Endurance tested for local swimmers

A 130 pupils competing in teams of 10 and a Felixton College staff/parents squad covered 425km in the gruelling all night swim event at the Empangeni town pool at the weekend.

Junior swimmers swam from 6pm to midnight, with senior swimmers competing from 6pm to 6am.

When all the foam had settled and the distances tallied, Kloof Primary won the junior event, completing 28.3km in their 6 hours.

Richards Bay High School won the senior event, recording 49.3km in 12 hours.

Results

Seniors – 1 Richards Bay High School 49.3km, 2 Kloof 46.45km, 3 Felixton College 45.65km, 4 Empangeni High School 39.60km, 5 Richards Bay Christian School 38.40km and 6 St Catherine’s 37 20km.

Juniors – 1 Kloof 28.30km, 2 Hillcrest 27.30km, 3 Heuwelland 25.45km, 4 Richards Bay Christian School 18.45km, 5 Felixton College Staff 20.05km, 6 Felixton College 1 19.75km, 7 Felixton College 2 16.45km and 8 St Catherine’s 13,35km.
