Principal pleads for computers

Amandosi Primary School principal appeal for computers

‘TECHNOLOGY is a big part of children’s education, and computers are a source of knowledge which can contribute to their academic performance,’

Those were sentiments of Amandosi Primary School principal Themba Zulu, who says his school desperately needs computers.

He believes they will help uplift a community stricken with poverty.

The school is situated in the rural heart of KwaNdaye Reserve outside eSikhaleni, and offers education to hundreds of disadvantaged pupils.

‘In this day and age everything works with computers, and they have became a vital tool of education.

‘Children need to understand them at a young age. They will be able to use that knowledge as they go further in life to high schools and higher institutions,’ he said.

The school is already fitted with a computer lab donated last year by Richards Bay Minerals.

The structure has only cubicles, but with no chairs or computers.

‘I plead with the private sector to assist. This could be the first step to change the life of these children,’ he said.
