Jaguar announces 320km/h F-Type SVR

Jaguar and Land Rover/Range Rover's performance division, Special Vehicle Operations (SVR), will be turning out a F-Type hell cat. The F-Type SVR will be able to clock a top speed of 320km/h.

THE Special Vehicle Operations skunk works at Jaguar headquarters have let loose its performance wizards on the company’s sports flagship, the F-Type R.

The result? The limited edition F-Type SVR – lighter, faster and more powerful, with a top speed of more than 320km/h.

And that’s all Special Vehicles boss John Edwards is telling the press for now about his new project, which will make its global debut at the Geneva Motor show in March, and will go on sale in the third quarter of 2016.

The F-Type SVR is the first series production Jaguar to be developed in the custom shop.

‘We’ve put everything we know about precision engineering, performance and design into the F-Type SVR,’ he said.

‘The result is a 320km/h, all-weather super car you can drive every day.

‘We even made a convertible version so you can enjoy the sound from the new titanium exhaust system,’ said Edwards.

So far only the coupé version will be coming to SA and the price tag is still to be announced.
