Brackenham without electricity for two days

Some streets in Brackenham enter the second day without electricity

ELECTRICITY has still not been restored to certain parts of Brackenham, which were affected by a power outage from Sunday night when a transformer exploded.
By 8am this morning, Frondosa, Blacktree Trail, Felt Fern and Grandiceps were still without electricity and residents expressed concern as food in their fridges have began to spoil.
The traffic lights were down at the Brackenham intersection causing delays as drivers used four-way stop procedures.
City of uMhlathuze Municipality spokesperson, Mdu Ncalane confirmed the matter is being attended to and technicians are working round the clock to have the electricity supply restored.
‘This is an unfortunate situation and we are doing our best to resolve the matter with urgency; we will continue to update residents on the progress via sms notifications and on our social media facebook page – uMhlathuze Municipality,’ said Ncalane.
