Fourie sets betters three records at inter-house gala
Fish Eagles took home the Spirit and House trophy at the Richardsbaai Hoërskool inter-house gala on Monday
JOHANN Fourie bettered three records at the Richardsbaai Hoërskool inter-house gala held at the Arboretum municipal swimming pool on Monday afternoon.
The SA ranked swimmer cruised through the pool like a dolphin on steroids.
He set the following records – boys U16 50m freestyle 26.47 (old time 27.16), boys U16 100m freestyle 58.46 (old time 58.60) and open boys 4x50m individual medley 2.30.75 (old time 2.32.00).
Despite the blistering speeds in the pool, Fish Eagles walked away with the Spirit trophy after making their voices heard and the House trophy after mustering up 414 points.
Albatrosses ended in second spot with 261 points, with Flamingos ending third with 213 points.
The evenings action ended off with a teacher/parents team taking on the matrics in a freestyle medley race which proved extremely entertaining.
