WHILE on leave for six weeks over the festive season, one of the things I managed to do was lie back on the couch and catch up on some interesting television programmes and series.
Scrolling through DSTV channels, I came across ‘My Strange Addiction’ on TLC (channel 162) and was intrigued to see what Americans are addicted to.
Here is a very interesting and disturbing list of some of the addictions:
1. In love with a doll: Davecat is in love with a doll named Sidore. They live, eat and go shopping together, like every other normal couple. Sidore is made from plastic and Davecat gives her foot massages.
2. Eating couch cushions: Adele has been eating her couch cushions for 20 years. She snacks on the foam 5-6 times a day.
3. Snorting baby powder: 28-year-old Jaye has been snorting baby powder for 16 years at least 10 times a day.
4. Drinking nail polish: 23-year-old Bertha drinks up to five bottles of nail polish a day when she gets thirsty.
5. Eating a person: Cassie is a woman so distraught by the death of her husband that she carries around his ashes wherever she goes. But despite this upset to the family, she eats his ashes 6 times a day
