Drivers rave over their engines at the awards

Taxi drivers were acknowledged in a special award ceremony in eSikhaleni

LONG and short distance routes had a temporary stop when taxi drivers were honoured at a special ceremony at eSikhaleni.

With millions of commuters transported by taxis daily, drivers were acknowledge for their contribution to society.

They received special accolades for their dedication to their work.

The event was spearheaded by Prideson Business Solutions and Mthaphoqa, in a joint venture with eSikhawini Taxi Association (ETA).

They were encouraged to be the best and to deliver top-grade service to the community.

‘On the road you must always be at your best behaviour and treat passengers in a good manner. This is what separates true drivers from the rest. On a daily basis it must be your goal to do the best,’ said ETA deputy chairperson Mduduzi ‘Khalulu’ Makhunga.

He also encouraged drivers to be cautious on the road, especially during the festive season.

Drivers were entertained by various local artists including Unique and MaAfrika, and received words of encouragement from the wife of the late Ukhozi FM presenter, Kansas Mchunu.
