UPDATE: Death toll climbs in Melmoth pass smash
KZN EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie has confirmed that four people died during the crash
THE death toll from a crash near the Nkwaleni intersection of the R34/R66 on Monday afternoon has risen to four.
This according to KZN EMS spokesperson, Robert McKenzie.
‘Four people have passed away in a crash involving a car and a minibus on the R66,’ he said.
‘The minibus then crashed down an embankment. 12 people were injured.’
It is believed that another vehicle, a SUV, was also involved.
Motorists are urged to continue to take care in the vicinity and on other waterlogged roads in Zululand.
