Empangeni detectives donate to the poor

Crime fighting women take time to bring Christmas cheer to crèche

IN their bid to give back to the community, female detectives from Empangeni donated Christmas packs to the children of Siyakha Crèche in Dumisani Makhaye Village on Friday.

The little boys and girls could not contain their joy when the detectives showered them with goodies like chips, sweets, biscuits and cakes.

Presenting the gifts,  Major D Mnguni said, ‘When we heard about the needs of the crèche, we decided to put money together, buy goodies for the little ones, so they have an early Christmas.

‘We are members of the community first, before we are police. On top of that we are also parents, so the little ones can enjoy themselves today.’

Passing her gratitude and appreciation for the presents given to her charges, School Principal and Manager of Siyakha Creche Mrs Zulu said she was very happy for the early Christmas goodies given by the detective ladies.

‘I wish God may shower you with more blessings, so that you can continue giving to the poor,’ Zulu added.
