Rivers flow as rain falls

iSimangaliso Wetland Park recorded a sufficient amount of rainfall over the weekend.

FOR the first time since June the Black Mfolozi River is flowing.

Friday night’s heavy rains caused the river to start flowing, with Saturday night’s rainfall adding to it.

According to iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Friday night saw uMkhuze north get 4mm, uMkuze south 40mm, FalseBay 40mm,  Charters Creek 5mm and Mission Rocks 10mm.

Also recorded from Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife – During Friday night’s rains, Mpila Camp in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park received 20mm rainfall while Hilltop Camp got 40mm.

The Hluhluwe River also started flowing on Saturday.

The rain was a relief for the worst affected area of uMkhuze and filled dams and pans.
