Donate clothes for Zululand babies

Can you help? Abandoned babies need clothes.

MORE than 3 000 babies are born per year at Lower Umfolozi War Memorial Regional Hospital (LUWMRH), many of whom are born into disadvantaged backgrounds and do not receive basic necessities.

In addition to this, others are abandoned and their welfare is left to the hospital.

The Zululand Observer’s charity arm, DICE (Do I Care Enough?) calls upon the community of Zululand to collect clothes for newborn babies in need.

LUWMRH Public Relations Officer Khethiwe Dlamini said the hospital does not have an official clothes stockpile available and is reliant on the goodwill of staff or community members.

Those who have clothes to donate may drop it off at the Zululand Observer offices at 3 Baines Road, Empangeni or Partridge Place, Richards Bay, and the clothes collected will be handed over to hospital management.
