Truck kills two roadside workers

Two roadside workers were killed on the R618 when a truck veered into them

AN accident on the R618 near the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve on Friday afternoon resulted in the death of two roadside workers.

KZN Emergency Medical Services (EMS) spokesperson, Robert McKenzie, said a truck collided with three cars before veering into the two construction workers who had been working at the side of the road.

Five people sustained serious injuries and were treated by paramedics on the scene. Once stabilised, they were transported to hospital.

The cause of the accident is currently unknown and is under investigation.
