Renowned evangelist to preach in the city

The celebrations commence on Saturday evening with a praise and worship service with a host of local participants.

EXCITEMENT is mounting as the final preparations get underway for the united service with seasoned evangelist Angus Buchan in Empangeni on 22 November.

The Unity in Christ Celebration Zululand (UICC) event takes place at the Empangeni High School grounds and is expected to attract over 20 000 people.

The celebrations commence on Saturday evening with a praise and worship service with a host of local participants.

Gates open at 8am on Sunday for a morning of children’s activities and programmes before evangelist Buchan takes the stage from noon with the UICC band.

Organiser, Pastor Andrew Anderson says a huge amount of support has been received and over R900 000 worth of services have been sponsored.

‘Evangelist Buchan has made a special call to all farmers from this region to attend and help pray for rain.’

Anderson said prayer meetings have been held every Sunday morning with church pastors leading up to the main event.

‘We want to see unity of races, churches and communities; people must reach out to each other and pray together.

‘Christians must unite and God will restore our land.’

Entry is free and visitors must bring along their own chairs or blanket and umbrellas.

To alleviate the traffic congestion, buses will pick up people at different points on the route as there is no parking available at the school.

Anyone who would like to donate funds, sponsor services or offer to help as marshals can email – uicczululand@gmail.com or phone Andrew Anderson on 083 2535100.
