No fireworks on Guy Fawkes

The SPCA has issued a stern reminder that fireworks are illegal tonight.

GUY Fawkes is being celebrated around the world with fireworks today.

The celebration is always good for a show, but unfortunately, the four-legged inhabitants don’t have as much fun.

Empangeni SPCA has issued a request for residents to be mindful that Guy Fawkes it is not legal to let off fireworks, as it is not part of the South African tradition.

Six years ago the SPCA led a strong petition to have fireworks banned during the celebration.

Also, as Diwali nears this weekend, residents are urged to keep the safety of their animals and the pets of neighbours in mind.
