UPDATE: Drought continues its grip

Alarming : Zululand's drought in numbers show concerted effort needed to save water.

AS dam levels continue to drop, the drought situation worsens with many taps running dry.

The sugar area supplying the Darnall mill received only 34% its average October rainfall.

Felixton and Pongola were even worse with 30% and 32% rainfall respectively.

The Amatikulu catchment received 45% its normal October rainfall, while the best of the milling areas, Umfolozi received 51% over the same period.
