Here’s how YOU can help on National Cat Day
There's no time to paws, it's time to get moving on a great cause - National Cat Day.
Today is not just about showering our cats with affection, but recognising all the cats in need of being rescued.
National Cat Day was founded by USA animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige. It is a celebration that takes place on October 29, every year. The day is observed to create awareness of the number of cats that need to be rescued each year and also to encourage cat lovers to celebrate the cat(s) in their life.
Zululanders can help their local animal shelters by donating cat food, adopting a kitten/cat or supporting the animal charity shops in Empangeni and Richards Bay.
Paws awhile is at 5Five Ways Mall, Empangeni.

Some may remember that she was a feral that arrived at the SPCA in 2000. She was wild and the folks at the animal shelter eventually managed to trap her. She arrived pregnant
She was kept at the SPCA and her two precious kittens were rehomed.
If you are thinking of welcoming a kitten into your lives, go along and meet the feline friends at the SPCA on the Heatonville road.

URGENT REQUEST: Please remember the Richards Bay SPCA when you are clearing out or downsizing, the shelter can resell items in their Brick a Brac shops to raise much needed funds for the SPCA.
List of goodies needed for the shop:
Books, Toys, Puzzles, Kitchenware, Clothing, Linen, Baby stuff, Dvd’s, Old records, Cd’s, Crockery, Sports Equipment, Plants, Electical appliance’s (working condition), Ornaments.
Items can be delivered during office hours.
