Foskor workers march for salary format changes and bonuses

The phosphates company’s management is currently in discussions to find an amicable resolution to the grievances raised.

 

FOSKOR employees at 6am this morning downed their tools and picked up their placards to start a peaceful protest for salary changes.

Members of union CEPPWAWU (Chemical Energy Paper Printing Wood & Allied Workers Union) yesterday received permission to demonstrate their demands for existing pay slips to be altered to a basic salary format as well as the implementation of salary scales, a pay progression criteria and bonuses.

The phosphates company’s management is currently in discussions to find an amicable resolution to the grievances raised.

‘The group is non-violent and there have been no disruptions to traffic on the John Ross Parkway,’ said Public Order Policing Unit Warrant Officer CB Vezi.
