Festive season patrols in St Lucia

The iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority, along with the area's law enforcement agencies, have implemented festive season security patrols along St Lucia's beaches and estuary.

HEADING into the festive season, safety and security along St Lucia’s beaches and estuary has been stepped up, with weekend patrols already underway.

Impi Security has begun undertaking weekend check points and patrols along iSimangaliso’s St Lucia beaches and Lake St Lucia Estuary areas. This will increase to 24/7 patrols and/or check points during December and January.

All residents and visitors are encouraged to report, with details, any incidents and apparent transgressions within the park, including drinking in public, unruly behaviour, feeding of wildlife such as crocodiles, poaching or unauthorised beach driving. Incidents are to be reported to iSimangaliso’s 24 hour emergency line, 082 7977944. Similarly, park facilities in need of servicing, including instances of broken toilets and no water, are to be reported to the same number.

‘We value your vigilance and support in ensuring that visiting iSimangaliso’s St Lucia section is a safe and positive experience for all our park users,’ said iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority CEO Andrew Zaloumis.
