VIDEO: Empangeni moms chase down knife-wielding robbers

The suspects robbed three pupils at knifepoint as they were walking home in Kildare earlier this afternoon.

TWO Empangeni moms, with a bit of help from other members of the community, chased down and apprehended two young men who had robbed their children.

A third suspect was later caught by a member of the Empangeni K9 Unit.

The suspects robbed three pupils at knifepoint as they were walking home in Kildare earlier this afternoon. The thugs made off with their cell phones.

One of the moms sprung into action after her son informed her of the incident, calling for backup as she jumped into her car.

The suspects were spotted hanging out around Empangeni High School’s gates, and a chase ensued.

Witnesses to the scene jumped in to assist, and two of the suspects were quickly caught, one of them with a large knife.

All of the suspects were found in possession of the stolen cell phones, and will be charged with robbery.
