A MAN is preparing to sit a 15 year jail term after being sentenced in the Empangeni Regional Court on Friday for raping a 9-year-old girl.
Bongani Ndimande (33) sent the young girl on an errand in Jamela Reserve in Nseleni township on 16 November 2014.
When she returned, he locked the door and raped her.
He threatened to kill her should she tell anyone, however when Ndimande raped her again, she reported the matter to her grandmother.
A case of rape was reported at the Nseleni satellite police station and the docket was transferred to the Empangeni family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit for further investigation.
Ndimande was arrested and appeared in court on several occasions until he was sentenced on Friday.
