WATCH: On board footage from fatal bus crash

Dash-cam footage from the bus reveals the cause of a crash near Richards Bay where 2 people died.

TWO people were killed in a head- on collision between a car and a bus on Thursday night in eNseleni.

The occupants travelling in the car died on impact when they slammed into the bus travelling from eNseleni to Richards Bay at about 6pm.

Manager of Ikhwezi Bus Service, Fanie Joubert said he was deeply saddened by the deaths and expressed the urgent need for a barrier line on the stretch of road near eNseleni where other fatal crashes have happened.

‘Footage from the dashboard camera inside the bus revealed our bus driver was travelling on the right side of the road and at the correct speed limit.
‘I wish it would become compulsory for all passenger and goods vehicles to have factory fitted video camera’s installed.

‘This is a dangerous section and it would greatly reduce the high accident rate if speed humps could be placed on this section of road,’ he said.
