School children injured in Ingwavuma accident

Medics responded to the crash on the rural Mnsinsi Road in the Mosveld area.

NUMEROUS people, including several school children, have been seriously injured in an accident involving a bakkie in Ingwavuma.

The accident occurred earlier this morning on the rural Mnsinsi Road in the Mosveld area.

KZN Emergency Medical Services (EMS) paramedics responded to the accident and treated a total of 22 patients, the majority of whom were school pupils, on scene before transferring them to hospital for further medical care.

Three were critically injured, 16 seriously injured and a further three sustained only minor injuries.

‘The paramedics worked together to treat the injured patients at the scene before they were transported to hospital for continued medical care,’ said  KZN EMS Spokesperson, Robert McKenzie.
