A MAN believed to be a hijacker, has been shot during a shootout between police, members of the South African National Defence Force and security guards from a vehicle tracking company.
The two suspects allegedly hijacked a vehicle in Durban at around 7am this morning.
A car tracking company traced the vehicle’s location, enabling authorities to chase the men down.
It is believed one of the suspect’s was shot, while another escaped in a dramatic end to the chase at the Kosi Bay Border post into Mozambique. The condition of the wounded man is unknown at this stage.
A helicopter is currently in the area, searching for the second suspect.
