WATCH: Gunmen murder taxi boss in Empangeni

Shocking video footage of the fatal shooting of Dumisani Mthethwa at an Empangeni service station.

JUST after 5pm on Monday, 3 August, two men walked up to Soweto taxi boss Dumisani Mthethwa (55) at an Empangeni petrol station, and shot him in cold blood.

Surveillance footage captured the brutal killing as the gunmen are seen shooting Mthethwa multiple times at close range.

Mthethwa can be seen in the top left corner of the frame putting petrol in his car seconds before the gunmen approach him.

Empangeni police spokesperson Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose declined to comment on whether police were treating the shooting as a hit, but confirmed a case of murder had been opened.

It is believed Mthethwa owns a number of taxis in Soweto, however the motive for the killing is unknown.
