AN Mzingazi woman was lucky to escape totally unscathed after her car left the John Ross Parkway and skidded into the Mzingazi Canal shortly after 7pm last night.
Losing control in driving rain opposite Green Africa Nursery, the car slid for about 120 metres, narrowly missing a number of trees before landing roof-up in the water.
She was able to get out and swim to the bank in the pitch darkness – just a short distance from where a three-metre crocodile had been seen earlier that day.
Miraculously, the woman escaped any injuries and although in shock, did not require medical treatment on scene.
