Evil spirits still persist

'Bad spirits' continues to torture eSikhaleni resident

DESPITE intervention by religious leaders and traditional healers, eSikhaleni resident Sithembiso Nyawo is adamant mysterious flames still engulf his home at night and sets his belongings on fire.

The terrified Nyawo told the Zululand Observer that his situation has escalated from bad to worse with ‘ghostly fires’ continuing to torture him daily.

‘I have tried everything but evil spirits torment me,’ he said.

Nyawo recently poured his heart out, claiming his two-room rental house near eManguni was possessed. He said his ex-girlfriend from eManguzi had bewitched him after they broke up in 2011.

His unusual claims caused a buzz on various social networks, with Zululanders sitting on different sides of the fence.

‘This is psychological and psychiatric. Religion and other magical, superstitious beliefs are irrelevant here. The man requires appropriate professional help,’ said Mark Richardson.

‘Go to Jesus Christ, He will help you,’ Yvette Behuhuma said.

‘He needs to ask God to forgive him for all his sins, and to protect him against any evil doings,’ Sanet Weston wrote.

Despite the public opinions, Nyawo still believes he is possessed and only a powerful inyanga can help him get rid of the ‘bad muthi’.

‘I know other people don’t believe me, but I’m the one who suffers every day. I need help to get my life back together again,’ he said.
