A KWAMSANE cattle herder discovered the butchered beheaded body of an unknown man on the Dutch Reserve in the Ebaswazini area on Saturday.
The victim’s heart, lungs and intestines were removed.
Police have not been able to identify the man.
‘We believe the deceased might have been killed somewhere else and dumped in that area,’ said KwaMsane SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe.
‘The motive of the killing is unknown. A murder docket has been opened, but no suspects have been arrested at this stage.’
With suspicions that this appear to have been a ‘muti’ murder, University of Zululand culture expert Dr Gloria Biyela said the act seems more like ‘witchcraft’.
‘There is no Zulu ritual used with stolen body parts. This was 100% witchcraft and nothing else.
