Beukes was also named the overall winner, while Celia Watkins scooped the ‘Best Junior’ award with her entry ‘Sitting in the morning sun’.

Photographers, who received certificates of merit included Hendrik Louw for his entry ‘African Humming bird moth’, Kobus Maree for his ‘Fish Eagle’ portrait, Hendrik Louw for his ‘Mono’ portrait and Nobby Clarke for ‘Pink sky’.

The next photo challenge for August will feature ‘Street Photography’ and ‘Photojournalism’ as the theme.

Visitors and photographers are invited to attend the meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at the NSRI base (next to Zululand Yacht Club) in Richards Bay. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, 4 August.
