Two armed robberies took place in Mzingazi

A case of armed robbery is being investigated at the Richards Bay police station.

Last Thursday at around 04:20am, a 29-year-old female was on her way to work when she was suddenly approached by a male suspect near the Khondweni store in Mzingazi.

The complainant alleged she was threatened with a knife and was robbed of her cash and wallet.

In a separate incident, a case of robbery and assault was opened after the caretaker of the Mzingazi library was attacked by three male suspects on Tuesday evening.

The victim was robbed of his belongings after which the suspects reportedly assaulted him and demanded the keys to the building.

When police arrived on the scene, the suspects had already fled.

The complainant was rushed to a nearby hospital. Further investigations are underway.
