UPDATE: Taxi driver charged after hitting traffic officers

Court case remanded for speeding taxi driver.

AN eSikhawini man was arrested and charged with reckless and negligent driving after reportedly hitting two on-duty traffic officers on Friday morning.

 

The accused appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday and was also charged with not having a valid public driver’s permit.

He was allegedly also transporting passengers at the time of the incident, but none of the passengers were injured.

He was granted R1 000 bail on condition that he appears before the court again on 24 July.

The matter was remanded for further investigation.
