THE Empangeni Regional Court yesterday denied bail to ‘Satanic’ rape accused, Sandile Xulu (26).
His co-accused, Zinhle Mkhungo and Innocent Mthembu were released on R500 bail each, after the State failed to produce sufficient evidence to back up a request by the prosecutor to deny bail.
A small crowd of protestors gathered outside the court on Monday, demanding the alleged rapist not be granted bail. The gallery was also packed.
