Boys and girls come out to play

Amangwe Village held their annual sports day to commemorate Child Protection Day.

AMANGWE Village commemorated Child Protection Day by hosting their annual sports event for 40 little toddlers.

Held in Kwambonambi last week, the village also welcomed 400 scholars from 25 rural crèches, to join in and celebrate the fun.

Amangwe Village Manager, Erna Steynberg was ecstatic with the way the event turned out.

‘Acknowledging Child Protection Day is central to empowering our children from a very young age.

‘Children are the most vulnerable, therefore we will continue to educate and teach them on the various ways of protecting themselves.’

The kids spent the day being entertained by Toktokkie – the mascot which became an instant hit and left a smile on everyone’s face.

After all the sporting activities, each child was provided with meals and refreshments, courtesy of Mfolozi Municipality.
