Life sentence for Enseleni child rapist

The 30-year-old man raped the 12-year-old girl after he broke into her home in October last year.

THE Empangeni Regional Court handed down a life sentence for 30-year-old Hlabisa Dumisa, who was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl in October 2014.

The court heard that the victim had fallen asleep in front of the TV, and was awoken by Dumisa who had broken into the home.

He then raped her.

She later identified him and opened a case at the Empangeni police station and Dumisa was arrested and charged three days later.

The Empangeni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit was praised for their thorough investigation and case presentation.
