UPDATE: Richards Bay motorcross rider recovering

DAMIAN Faber, the motocross rider injured at Sand Tracks on Mother’s Day, is recovering well at Netcare Umhlanga Hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

Faber, who underwent operations to save his spine, is now able to stand, although he cannot walk just yet.

‘The pain is still there, but I’m getting there one step at a time,’ he said.

He is currently undergoing assessments and physical therapy as part of his rehabilitation.

Faber fell at Sand Tracks while riding his motocross bike after a landing was removed by ‘sand thieves’.
