IT was a day of scintillating sports action when 15 primary schools from the Zululand region converged in Richards Bay for the eighth annual Veldenvlei U11 Sports Day on Saturday.
Held at Veldenvlei Primary School, teams competed in rugby, hockey and netball in front of a capacity crowd of parents and spectators.
The participating schools were – Veldenvlei, Richardia, Richards Bay Primary, Arboretum, Heuwelland, Grantham Park, Grantleigh Preparatory, Empangeni Preparatory, St Catherine’s, Hluhluwe Primary, Hluhluwe Privaat Skool, Mtunzini, Pongola Akademie, eShowe and Mandini.
‘It is a real honour to host this event and we thank our sponsors and visiting schools for making this day possible. Everyone enjoyed the day immensely with sport being the overall winner,’ said Veldenvlei Primary School Principal Vivian Raubenheimer.
