Criminals target Richards Bay homes
Burglaries in Arboretum are on the increase.
SEVERAL burglaries were reported in Richards Bay this week with majority having occurred in the Arboretum area.
According to Richards Bay SAPS Communications Officer Captain Debbie Ferreira, in the Arboretum incidents windows and doors were forced open to gain entry.
During the spate of burglaries a property was broken into on Thursday night, the garage door was found open and tools were stolen.
The following morning between 9am and 10am, another premises was broken into and the suspect gained entry by forcing the kitchen door open which activated the alarm, later that night a different home was targeted where the kitchen window was forced open.
On Saturday night another home was reportedly broken into, an unknown instrument was used to break the window.
Police are investigating all the incidents and remind home owners to report any break-ins or burglaries.
