LOCAL owners behind the steering wheels of flashy Mini Cooper cars, instead of just showing off their prized possessions, have taken it upon themselves to spend some of their time supporting the underprivileged.
The NRB Miniacs Club founded last year, celebrated Freedom Day visiting Xolile Zungu and three young children at Mkhamanga, KwaKhoza Reserve, delivering food parcels and blankets.
Club member Nokuthula Mthiyane said, ‘Driving on tough gravel roads to get there was such a challenge. At some point I thought we would never reach the place, but there was such joy when we finally arrived at Xolile’s homestead, passed on the food parcels and other essentials to her.’
The single mother was ecstatic and with tears in her eyes thanked everyone for ‘bringing such joy into my and my children’s lives’.
