Media man makes career change

Community radio Manager embarks on a new journey at NPO.

Zululander Thulani Zulu, who was previously the Station Manager at Shine FM, has been appointed as the KZN spokesperson for the National Interfaith Council of South Africa (NICSA).

With the sole purpose of the non-profit organistion being to promote humanity through mobilising faith-based organisations, Zulu has been tasked with setting up the regional campaign.

‘NICSA is planning to launch its campaign in uThungulu soon, calling on all the faiths to form a partnership to combat various social ills such as rape, drugs and HIV/Aids.

The organisation teaches people about humanity and also aims to educate people about how to live responsibly,’ he said.

Thulani will also be responsible for launching media desks in each district to amplify the brand’s positioning.

‘I want to work closely with Operation Sukuma Sakhe, which is part of the Premier’s programme.

‘There is a lot of work to be done and I am up for the challenge,’ he said.

NICSA was established in 2011 to take up the challenge of moral regeneration, social development and nation building.

In addition to this new position, Zulu has also been appointed as the new treasurer of the KZN National Community Radio Forum.
