MEDICAL staff at Ngwelezana Hospital are still working frantically to save the life of the security guard who was shot in a robbery in central Empangeni this morning.
Public Relations Officer for the hospital, Thobile Radebe, confirmed his condition as ‘critical’.
‘His family is with him now,’ she said.
It is believed the man was shot three times, sustaining wounds to his head and back.
The suspects are still at large, having fled in a silver Volvo, registration NPN 52523.
Residents are urged to contact Empangeni SAPS on 035 907 5803/06 if they spot the vehicle.
