Richards Bay Pastor parts ways

Pastor Dudley Anderson has bid the Richards Bay Baptist Church farewell.

AFTER serving the local community for 17 years, Pastor Dudley Anderson has bid the Richards Bay Baptist Church farewell.

Although his wife’s career change has led to the family moving to Cape Town, Pastor Dudley ultimately believes that the great trek to the Mother City is ordained by God.

‘It had been something we prayed about for a number of years and we felt the time was right, and that this was the way God was calling us.

‘Together we decided to step out in faith as I do not know what God has planned for me next, but He has assured me that He has a great plan for the rest of my life,’ Pastor Dudley said.

Contributing towards the church’s growth and development has played an instrumental role in his life’s journey.

Of all the memories he’s had over the years, he recalls the establishment of the minister’s fraternal soup kitchen and the ’40 Days of Purpose’ campaign as standing out.

‘I leave a church with great leadership and a wonderful body of believers who have no airs and graces. They are real people loving Christ and recognising that we all fail, but our God is great,’ he added.

The self-proclaimed family man is looking forward to catching up and spending quality time with his two daughters, who are already Cape Town residents.

He admits that the memories made in this town will forever be treasured.

‘The best thing about Richards Bay is that nothing is more than 15 minutes away. More especially, the friendships and relationship cultivated over the years, these have been a great blessing in my life.’

When he’s not preaching the good word, this avid Sharks fan can be found enjoying a game of golf or winning a board game which he admits is one of his leisure activities.

His life is driven by Romans 8 verse 15.
