‘Pyjama Llama’ project goes international

Grantleigh School science pupils head to Johannesburg for their project 'Pyjama Llama'

SCIENCE whizz kids Kendra Dean and Christie-Mari van den Heever have set the benchmark after their science project ‘Pyjama Llama’ was selected to be shared at the International Science Fair in Johannesburg.

This amazing achievement from the Grantleigh Schools pupils came after they conducted a detailed survey to test if stretching before going to bed would improve the quality of a person’s sleep.

‘We were very excited that our project was selected and we worked hard on improving our project before the ISF,’ both girls remarked.

‘Once at the ISF, it was very interesting to see what other pupils were doing and to share ideas.

‘We especially enjoyed listening to the talk given by former ISF winner and now world-famous energy entrepreneur Siya Xuza.

‘He was an amazing speaker and his achievements and ambition were so inspiring.’

‘Pyjama Llama’ received a Highly Commended Award at the ISF.

Despite not taking first place, both girls would do it all again if the opportunity ever arose.
