AN Nseleni family home was totally gutted by fire on Thursday night after a blaze apparently caused when the power was restored after load shedding.
According to the uMhlathuze Fire & Rescue department, who responded to the scene, Thabane Shabalala and his family were at home when the electricity supply resumed at 10pm.
There was a huge flash and explosion at the meter box and the fire spread swiftly.
Fire engines raced to the scene but were too late to save the home.
