MTUNZINI police are looking for a murder suspect after a senior citizen was shot and killed in the Ntuze area, Mtunzini.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Mdlalose, a call from the public was received at about 8pm on Thursday night claiming an unidentified man had shot a woman and fled the area.
‘The police rushed to the scene and found the body of Thandephi Zibane (73) lying in the homestead’s graveyard.
Family members alleged that an unknown man wearing overalls and covering his face had approached Zibane while she was outside. The man fired several shots fatally wounding her. The suspect then ran away.
A murder case has been opened with the Mtunzini SAPS, however no arrests have been made and the motive for the killing is unknown.
