ESHOWE-based KZN EMS paramedics responded to an accident in the Obonjeni area near eShowe this morning.
A minibus had collided with a trailer, which according to KZN EMS Media Liaison Officer, Robert Mckenzie, apparently had been parked on the side of the dirt road. ‘The driver was critically injured and a 25-year-old man had to be extricated from the wreckage using the ‘Jaws of Life’.
He was treated by an advanced life support paramedic.’
A second occupant in the vehicle managed to escape with only minor injuries. The patients were transported to Ngwelezana Hospital, for continued care.
